How investors subscribe

The path of a subscription, from the order placed with the custodian bank.

An investor subscribes to a security issued by a Comparto exactly as they would to any other listed security carrying an ISIN: through their own bank or wealth manager, with no specific procedure to learn.

In practice, the investor sends a subscription order to their custodian bank, quoting the ISIN of the security and the amount required. The bank checks its client's eligibility before passing the order on.

The order is then routed through standard settlement channels, which organise the exchange between the investor's funds and the booking of the security to their account.

Once the subscription settles, the security appears directly on the investor's portfolio statement, at their own bank.

It is this compatibility with existing banking infrastructure that distinguishes a subscription through Comparto from an investment in an SPV or an informal club deal, where the investor often has to enter into a direct contractual relationship with the structure.
